For this week’s reading response, you will write 1-2 paragraphs for each of the following essays: “Serving in Florida,” “I Just Wanna Be Average,” and “The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl Named Maria.”

For each essay, you will state the problem that the author addresses. Analyze the specific effects of the problem and how the author shows us these effects. Analyze the structure of each essay and the way the problem is introduced and how the essay/problem builds to the conclusion.

The essays provide the personal experiences of the author and show the problem in action. Why is this important? Why is this most effective when conveying a problem? Please offer your explanation in the separate paragraphs.

Note which techniques you believe work well in these essays and which techniques might help you construct your own draft.

Finally, answer if the authors offer solutions to their problems. Name each solution and answer why the solution works or will work.
